The New Braun Series
The Braun Series range represents the latest selection of Braun Shavers. Arranged in recognisable Series number scheme 1, 3, 5 and 7 similar to another well known German manufacturer.
As you move up the Series number the feature list increases and the shave quality becomes more refined.
Build quality and reliability is however consistently high across all ranges. Still manufactured and assembled in Germany, Braun products renowned for their quality and after-sales backup.

Braun Series 5
The Braun Series 5 range was released autumn 2008 and offers the best combination of performance, features and value.
It offers an advanced shaving head designed to catch stray hairs and reduce the number of strokes needed per shave. This is combined with a contour following feature to help keep the cutting surface in contact with the skin as much as possible while shaving.
All models are washable and feature a long hair trimmer.
Like the Series 7, the Series 5 also includes blades featuring Gillette technology.

Braun Series 3
The Braun Series 3 range was released autumn 2008 and gives you performance and shave quality similar to the higher models but slightly less features. The most notable difference is that on certain models you do not get the pivoting, contour following shaving head.
You do however get the same fundamental high Braun build quality as the most expensive model and you do get a great shave at a fantastic price point with tried and tested Braun technology.
All models are washable and feature a long hair trimmer.

Braun Cruzer
The main feature of the Cruzer range and the most popular model, the Cruzer 3 is the stubble beard facility. The Cruzer 3 comes with a comb attachment designed to limit the closeness when using the wider of the long hair trimmers. The length is around 1-2mm, probably a little more than that 5 o'clock shadow look.

The standard Cruzer doesn't have this comb attachment but both models feature a small and large long hair trimmer blade, the small trimmer being used for detail work.

Braun FreeControl
The FreeControl gives you single foil shaving with a great slide up trimmer. Mains and rechargeable is available with 1 hour charging yet still maintaining its budget conscious pricing. Great build quality regardless of price helps Braun stand out from the crowd.

Braun Flex XP
This is tried and tested Braun technology, twin foil with contour following, swivel head assembly. Many existing users will have used something similar and the current examples are now available at a more affordable, mid range price point. If you previous model was a top end version you might benefit from looking at the Activator or 360 Complete.

Help for Sensitive Skin

Sensitive skin and shaving burn can be a major problem when considering which shaver you choose. People that suffer from shaving burn and redness around the neck area due to shaving do so for a number of reasons. Many younger users suffer because their skin can still be quite soft and flexible. The flexibility of the skin causes the foil or cutter head to bunch up the skin as it passes over and cause excessive levels of friction. If this sounds like your situation or you suffer in general regardless of age an easy thing to do is look at the way you shave.

During shaving you may want to move your head about in order to best gently stretch/tighten the area of skin you are shaving. Using your free hand to lightly pull the skin in order to tighten the surface you are shaving may also come in useful. Shaving the same area from a couple of different angles is often needed to give a clean finish.

An easy way to improve any shave is by using a small amount of pre-shave oil or powder. If you think it sounds messy, don't be put off, it isn't. Most of the shaving oil is in fact a skin conditioner that will rub into the skin and should not leave an awkward residue after shaving, although it is easy to rinse your face after shaving if you wish. With the pre-shave powder stick you just need to make sure you keep the cutting assembly clean after each use. The benefits should more than outweigh any extra time taken!
