Dennis Bergkamp has declared that the current season will be his last as a professional footballer.

The prolific Dutchman has had a sparkling career with The Gunners following his £7.5 million move from Internazionale in June 1995.

The former Ajax hit-man has been a key figure in Arsene Wenger's revolution at Highbury, having won three Premiership titles and four FA Cups in his time in North London.

The 36-year-old, who is on his third consecutive one-year contract with the club, admitted his Arsenal career will come to a close at the season's end.

"There are some regrets that I will not be able to call this my home as an Arsenal player but it is time to call it a day," Bergkamp said.
