Hann to face 'match-fixing' probe

World Snooker is set to investigate allegations in The Sun newspaper that Quinten Hann agreed to lose a match at the China Open in return for money.

Sir Rodney Walker, the chairman of World Snooker, confirmed the body will now begin disciplinary procedures.

Walker told BBC Sport: "Quinten Hann will be written to and invited to comment on these allegations.

"Then in due course he will be invited to attend a meeting of World Snooker's disciplinary committee."

Walker added: "We work of the principle of English justice - a man is innocent until proven otherwise."

According to Sky Sports News, Hann, who is ranked 22 in the world, issued a statement denying the allegations.

But Hann's lawyer, Adam Mir, says his client has not yet made any comment.

According to Mir, Hann and his legal team are due to discuss The Sun's accusations and may make a statement in the next few days.
