David Bowie:

"I expect that by the end of the decade e-trade will have changed the music industry radically. Similarly the notion of intellecual property will be revolutionized to an extent that copyright will be made null by downloads and remixes of remixes of remixes, and so on. (...) I expect music to be similarly affected in its essence and function. It will be as easily available as running water or power, you won't have to pay for it and it won't be anyone's exclusive property. And the artists' originality will be based on live performance only.
Does that upset you?
Quite the reverse. What does it matter? My professional life will be transfigured [???], so what? It can only be another source of excitement for me. I have always been trying to go forward, I will only have to say goodbye to my copyrights. It doesn't bother me, if it's the price to pay to keep on evolving."
