The Yankees retired Ron Guidry's number (49) Aug. 23 and gave him a plaque in Monument Park alongside the likes of Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Joe DiMaggio and Mickey Mantle. He became the 16th player – and second pitcher (along with Ford) – to have his number retired in the 101-year history of the Yankees.
