Nem csak a fejlesztés problémás, hanem az, hogy bizonyos képességei miatt az EU legtöbb országában csak kiherélve lehetne árulni a szoftvert. Németországban van a legtöbb vásárlójuk és pont ott kellene - az ott hozott új törvények miatt - legjobban korlátozni a program védelmeket kijátszó tudását. Ez nem újdonság, bizonyos funkcióit már az USA-ban is tiltották kezdettől fogva (más kérdés, hogy könnyen kijátszható volt).

Itt egy másik levél is, némileg cáfolja az előzményeket (úgy tűnik a cégen belül nincs egységes álláspont), de utal arra, hogy felülvizsgálják az új törvényeket és aszerint lépnek, hogy jogilag milyen biztosítékot látnak a jövőre nézve:

És persze maga a tény, hogy tavaly november óta nem volt frissítés a programhoz. A legfrissebb infók szerint kiadták egy külső cégnek a CloneCD 5 fejlesztését. Majd meglátjuk mi lesz.
