Mr. Vonnegut Reads Slaughterhouse-Five
The Kurt Vonnegut / Simon Heselev CD single, "Tock Tick" will be released
January 28, 2003.

The CD is a reinterpretation of Vonnegut's words in a musical work of
tremendous impact, especially at this moment in history.

"Tock Tick" is a dreamy, rhythmic Electronica/live music track created by
Simon Heselev, with a voice-over track created from excerpts of a reading by
Kurt Vonnegut from his novel Slaughterhouse-Five.

The preliminary recording was constructed from original musical elements
that were recorded and then reconstructed and edited by Simon into a backing
track. He then took excerpts of a reading by Vonnegut and edited them to fit
with the music.

The piece is timely in light of international circumstances as we enter
2003. It centers on a reverse portrayal of war, with Billy Pilgrim — the
protagonist in Slaughterhouse-Five — viewing a war movie backwards in time
(thus "Tock Tick", Vonnegut's title for the CD). Death and destruction
miraculously turn into youthful life and "un-destruction", all to a
mesmerizing soundtrack.

The cover artwork features "Astronomy", an original by Kurt Vonnegut.
