Rules of Conduct
----------------

There are 2 key rules:

1. This list is a COMMERCIAL FREE ZONE. What does that mean? No public announcements OF ANY KIND regarding the sale of anything. Didgeridoos included. This includes EVERYONE.

This does not mean that you can't have a SMALL reference to your website in your message signature. It does mean that there can be no marketing hype associated with your website link. So, it can say "http://www.myhomepage.com" with phone number and fax, but it can't say "Check out the stuff I sell at: http://www.myhomepage.com" or anything that promotes the sale of your wares.

I also would like to ask that people refrain from indirect advertising. That means, if someone buys the best thing in the world from so and so, that they not publicly post a message that encourages others to buy from that site. It DOES NOT mean that you can't discuss a particular makers product.

Now, in addition to that, if someone posts a message asking where to find something, you are encouraged to PRIVATELY respond directly to that individual. I do encourage everyone to consider replying with 2 or 3 possible sources. Not just one with a personal preference.

2. There will also be no tolerance in any way shape or form for personal attacks on ANYONE.

These rules will be strictly enforced.

- First offence will be receive a warning.
- Second offence will receive a public admonishment and another warning.
- Third offence will result in the mail address and ip address being blocked from participation in this list.

Suggested considerations:

Please remember that any message you submit to the list group will be
read by possibly thousands of individuals. Whether you are speaking
with someone directly or through e-mail messages, it's always good to
think about what you are about to say before saying it. Please review
some of the common sense rules below.

1 - If you want to reply to a conversation in this list, consider
whether your reply would be best sent to the list, or to the
originator of the message. Replying to the list generates a copy of
your message to all of the subscribers ... and generates a lot of mail.

2 - When sending a message to the list or replying to a message from
it, carefully edit your reply so that it only contains information
that pertains to the conversation. Excessive info can be distracting
and disturbing to the other recipients.

3 - Avoid sending negative or editorial comments ... you never know
who may read your message, or the results.

4 - If you have questions, problems, or suggestions, please address
them to the administrator of this list group (John Madill),
not the list. The administrator's e-mail address is:

jmadill@joyousnoise.com
