The new side project of Foo Fighters's Dave Grohl called Probot will feature his new, original songs sung by his favorite metal vocalists. Grohl has already written and recorded the bass, drum and guitar parts at his home studio in Virginia. He then sent the instrumental tracks to a handful of singers, each of whom was asked to come up with lyrics, record them and then title the song. Participants include Celtic Frost's Thomas Gabriel Warrior, Max Cavalera, King Diamond, Mike Dean (COC), Cronos (Venom), Snake (formerly of Voivod and now with Union Made), Eric Wagner (Trouble), Wino (formerly of the Obsessed and now with Spirit Caravan) and Tom Araya.
Lemmy and Phil Anselmo are also expected to lend their lungs. While writing and recording the music, Grohl stuck an old Voivod sticker on a chair in his studio "for inspiration."
