The latest cultivars have the best frost tolerance: Ceglédi arany, Nyujtó Ferenc emléke, Ceglédi zamatos, Ceglédi Piroska, Ceglédi bájos.

In the apricot breeding program at the Research Station frost tolerance of flower buds is an accentuated selection criterion in the seedling populations. Our newer hybrids, coming from guided crosspollinations, seems to have enhanced tolerance. H-II 50/58, H-II 45/42 and H-II 45/45 hold almost the best frost tolerance in our experimental orchards. Moreover, these selections have good fruiting characteristics, and are perspectivic breeding lines, such as Gönci 83, which is under review for the National Cultivar List.
