From praslav. * be, * bez, from the cat. among other things happened: Old Russian. without, beige (the form bezo is a Russian new formation by analogy with with: with, in: in, etc.), Art. without, beige, Russian. without, ukr. without, bulg. without, Serbo-Horv. without, Slovenian. bez, Polish. bez, V.-puddles. bjëz, n.-puddle. (old) bjez.

Goes back to the Praindoevr. * bheg'h "without, out". Related lit. bè "without", Latvian. bez, Old Prussian. bhe "without", Old-Ind. bahíṣ "outside", bahir-dhā "outside"
