Ja a felvetés:

Can somebody please explain to me why this song is played differently by every oboeist? Isn't there a written score?! I can't hardly STAND the variations! I find it utterly grinding. I first heard what I thought was the only version of it high school, on a CD called The Best of Vox Prima. It took me years to find that copy and it's the only recording of this song that that I can endure. (Apple has it digitally as well, on an album called The Most Essential Classical Music In Movies.) I guess it's a singular performance by Southwest German Chamber Orchestra, oboeist Helmut Hucke & conductor Paul Angerer. Search this song for yourself on YouTube and you'll see what I mean. WHY does the oboe line CHANGE?!
