Allow the canes to grow for a season, then cut them back just above the ground after harvest. If you wish, you can allow the canes to grow for a second year and they will produce a crop beginning mid to late June. Even if these canes are damaged by severe winter temperatures, the new growth will bear a crop of fruit. First year canes begin ripening in late summer and continue to fruit until frost.
