Kluivert: ‘it was good to lead the line again’

Speaking exclusively to fcbarcelona.com, Patrick Kluivert was clearly happy to have got back to his number 9 position against Zaragoza on Sunday: “it was good to lead the line again. It’s also true that with Rivaldo and Saviola it’s easy for us to swap around positions and that gives the team plenty more options. I hope to be playing in the same position against Seville.”
Good start
“We’ve made a good start to the new year, as we wanted to. I wouldn’t say we’ve put an end to a bad run, rather we’ve put an end to some bad luck. We’ve got another home game coming up and I hope we can get another good result. Seville are coming off a good away result, but we’ve got to stamp our authority on the game. When we’re dominating possession, we’re a better team than they are and the important thing on Sunday will be to keep the ball and get goals.”

“It was a good game on Sunday, in part because we knew we had to win. The truth is that they were not as good as they can be and they didn’t play at their usual level, but it was a win we needed at all costs.

“We always knew that our full backs were going to be good at pushing up and playing as wingers and we really took advantage of that on Sunday with Sergi. As for Saviola, I’m really beginning to strike up a good understanding with him.
