Molik to play in Family Circle Cup The Associated Press
Alicia Molik, ranked No. 8 in the world, will play in next month's Family Circle Cup, tournament organizers said Wednesday.
Molik won the bronze medal at last year's Olympics and made the quarterfinals of this year's Australian Open.
She joins four other top 10 players - No. 1 Lindsay Davenport, as well as Anastasia Myskina, Elena Dementieva and Venus Williams - at the tournament on Daniel Island.
"Alicia has had an incredible journey over the past year and has become one of the most talked about players on the Sony Ericsson WTA Tour," said Frankie Whelan, the executive director of the tournament.
The tournament will be held April 9-17 at the Family Circle Tennis Center.
