Mivel nincs pénzem feladni, beviszem hozzád a CD-ket este. Ha nem bánod. Hm, nincs más választásod. .V.
Szerinte a japik perverz munkamániások...
General Info: Atsushi Sakurai was born March 7, 1966 in Gunma Japan. As a young man, the second son of an alcoholic father, was asked to join a band named Hinan a Go Go by a fellow classmate Imai Hisashi. His instrument of choice was the drums so he bought a beat up old set costing about $300. He decided upon drums just to irritate his father which it did. Eventually he moved it into Toll’s house. Unsatisfied in this role he wanted to be a singer so he went to Toll for advice, and the possibility of joining Toll's band (since SP's singer had left). Toll, not wanting to break up his brothers band, told him to stay where he was on the drums. Feeling frustrated he sought advice from a member of Boowy who told him to follow his heart. Holding a band meeting he shared his desire with his band mates. In the end he got his wish and became singer. After going to Tokyo he got a job working as either a used car salesman or in an auto parts store which is where he developed his love for cars. And the rest, as they say, is history.
As far as family life goes his father died when he was 19 and his mother, whom he loves dearly to this day, died in the end of 1990 quite unexpectedly, and for whom he wrote the songs Jupiter, Sakura and Killed by the Sun. Even now he misses his parents very much. According to Atsushi he and his brother were never beaten by their father but the house was always "dark". His older brother is married with children. Atsushi himself was married in 1991-1992 to his stylist at the time and had a child (which I believe is a boy). Rumor has it that they divorced because he had an affair. I am not sure how involved he is with his child. He also has two American short-hair cats called Chibi and Niya.
Much like the rest of the guys in Buck-Tick, Atsushi loves his alcohol and smoking. This is quite a pity as it has and is causing him health problems especially with his voice. He has had problems with his voice in the mid 1990s and was told to stop both which he didn’t. Recently he has been having problems as well and was again told to stop. Though he feels guilty about not following doctor’s orders he, as far as I know, has not stopped.
He seems to have pretty bad health in all. As one can see in certain videos and lives he often looks or sounds ill. Sometime between 1994-1996 he was struck with peritonitis, a very serious and acute illness, and was rushed back to Japan. He was hospitalized for about one month. I've heard various accounts of it being while they were in Turkey, or while he was in Nepal doing a side project of a poetry & photo book.
From what I understand he plays saxophone, sitar and violin. However I have seen shots of him playing around with a guitar. He has done numerous side projects. To many to name so I shall name a few-Pig’s Wrecked (save your money it really isn’t worth it as all he does is whisper some Japanese lyrics in the one song and does chorus in another), Forest People with Tsuchiya Masami (get it if you can he sounds soooo sexy), Dance to Noise 002 (not bad collaboration with Xymox), and Der Ziebit (I don’t own these so I can’t tell you about them).
Atsushi married this past June, 2004!!
Now for some no Miko personal thoughts on Atsushi:
Personally I think he holds onto his drinking so fiercely because it is a way to keep his father "alive" and if he gives it up then he will have nothing left of his father.
Just an observation of mine but has anyone ever looked really close at his teeth? The ones in the back are all silver filings suggesting he has had massive problems with his teeth. Interesting. I also think his gums are receding.
It was rumoured that in 1995-ish he and Imai were married (doesn’t Love Letter sound like a marriage proposal?), but this has never been confirmed, but damn they make the HOTTEST couple. Another rumour is they are living together.
Also he has a cute little scar on the left underside of his chin. Very noticeable in the WOW WOW live on the DVD box set.
