Playing her first match in two months after an inner ear infection forced her withdrawal from Roland Garros, world No.9 Alicia Molik was beaten Wednesday at the DFS Classic in Birmingham, England. The No.2-seeded Australian, who received a first round bye, fell to American Laura Granville, 64 62.
Alicia Molik has withdrawn from the 2005 Family Circle Cup due to an inner ear infection. “I’m extremely disappointed not to play here this year,” stated Molik. “The people are really friendly in Charleston and I love the atmosphere. I hope to be back next year.”
