"This is a match that Babos (the one who fed double bagels to the 2nd seed Elena) should have won. In the second set, she served for the match at 5-4 only to have Noppawan get back into the match and push it to a third setter.
In the final set, Babos was up a break and leading at 4-3 only to get broken for the score to be tied at 4-4. Noppawan then held serve to go up 5-4. Babos was up 40-15 after hitting two unreturnable serves but then she made 3 consecutive unforced errors including one at match point. All Noppawan did in the last 3 points was to return the ball and Babos simply self-destructed.
She was really disappointed and even cried and hug her coach who went to the court after the match. Her coach was a good sport and he even congratulated Noppawan. I have to say Noppawan is a steady player, her serve is weak but her ground strokes which is both two-fisted can create some acute angles and she has a good net game. She is quite short even for a junior player but she handled Babos' power pretty well.
Babos is a very animated player, the kind of player the I like. She was constantly talking to herself aloud when she made mistakes and was very vocal when questioning line calls. Maybe it's because she's still very young so she still needs some maturity but there is definitely potential in her. Her serve is pretty good and she has good technique on her ground strokes but I rarely saw her play in the net though. I felt sorry for her when she lost, I realized it's more sad to see players cry in person than in TV. One consolation she got though is that she won the doubles title beating Elena again."
és még egy kicsi:
"Me my friend had a lot of fun especially with Babos' antics on court. She reminds me of Myskina with her reactions. After losing her serve in the third set she got so frustrated she was all ready to smack the ball with her racket but the ball was bouncing too low so she kicked it instead. It was so funny that me and my friend even applauded her.
She also got very irritated with the linesman when a shot she thought was out was called in that she started arguing with the umpire. A few points after that another shot was out and she screamed "Out" into the linesman's direction even though it was obvious to everyone (including the linesman) that it was out. Hilarious. Then when that same umpire later on called Nop's shot as out, the crowd cheered loudly and she was smiling herself. Although the crowd was mostly clapping for the Asian girl, I think in the end the crowd like her more for her craziness."
