"sophie
thanks for the prayers! it worked! have a safe trip home and was good to see you laughing
keith"

Oh, here's a little disco ditty from 1979 Bryan Adams wants to forget about but he can't rewrite his history! Here's his first solo single at age 18 that he co-wrote and produced with longtime collaborator Jim Vallance. Apparently Bryan hadn't found "his sound" yet and was singing in a higher falsetto... in this tale of dance mayhem. A 12" mix was commissioned and this being the age before samplers, legendary remixer and DJ John Luongo added percussion and sax to the preproduced track and sped up Bryan's voice for a faster tempo. Bryan disassociates himself with this release and his never been included on any of his 400 greatest hits collections. "Let Me Take You Dancing" went to #1 on several New York disco charts and enjoyed significant success at retail. However, despite the positive outcome, Bryan was bitterly disappointed with the sped-up sound of his vocal. A fun little side-note to a man who had such success in the album oriented rock charts. Bryan came full circle when he returned to the dance charts with lead vocals on Chicane's #1 hit "Don't Give Up" in 2000. Also included is a white label remix of his "Summer of '69" just for fun.
