Icelandic dance queen Björk is earning rave reviews at the Cannes Film Festival for her highly emotional turn in Lars Von Trier's "Dancer In The Dark," a movie that garnered a standing ovation after its screening on Wednesday.
Even though Björk blew off a press conference following the media screening of the film, she did turn up for the official premiere of "Dancer In The Dark" at the Palais de Festivals later that evening, wearing a billowing pink dress, according to Reuters.
At the press conference earlier in the day (video excerpts from which are available at Cannes' official Web site) Von Trier and the film's co-star, Catherine Deneuve, both confirmed rumors of onset clashes involving Björk and the director.
But Von Trier said that any sort of tumult was caused by the same thing that made Björk's character in the film so gripping and moving.
"Björk is not an actor, which is a surprise for me because she seemed so professional," he said. "She was not acting in the film, she was feeling everything, which was hard on her and hard on everyone else.
"To work with Björk has been very rewarding for both of us, but also very painful. I now realize that was the only way it could be."
In "Dancer In The Dark," Björk portrays Selma, a single mother working in a factory in the 1960s who has a hereditary disease that causes blindness. As Selma daydreams about a better life for her and her son, the film launches into colorful musical numbers, the majority of which were penned by Björk.
Elektra Records plans to issue Björk's soundtrack to "Dancer In The Dark" in mid-September, while the film is scheduled to arrive in U.S. theaters on October 6. Björk will then release a new studio album, the follow-up to 1997's "Homogenic," in the spring of 2001.
Valami Dancing in the Dark, vagy hasonló címe van. De sikerült befejezni a filmet, Cannesban lesz a bemutatója nem sokára, de a soundtrack csak szeptemberben jön ki.

Sikerült letöltenem Björk és PJ Harvey előadásában a Satisfaction-t. Ha érdekel valakit, és tudtok egy helyet, ahova feltölthetem, akkor szívesen. Esetleg a Napsteren is megtalálható vagyok

Köszi a tippet! Bár nem vagyok benne biztos, hogy most azonnal leülök ruhát tervezni björknek. Azért a biztonság kedvéért szólok a nagyinak, hátha neki van valami jó ötlete. Mondjuk megnézném Björköt magyar népviseletben.
